Stop Blackwater!!

Protest/Rally - 9/13 3pm

COMMEMORATES
SEPT 16, 2007 NISOUR SQUARE MASSACRE
17 IRAQI CIVILIANS CUT DOWN BY BLACKWATER GUNFIRE

BLACKWATER MERCENARIES --
GET OFF OUR BORDER!

Blackwater Worldwide’s facility in Otay Mesa, 500 yards from the US-Mexico border, threatens to exacerbate tensions with Mexico and local Mexican Americans who fear Increased human and civil rights violations in border communities. A private paramilitary outfit with an infamous reputation for operating outside the law, Blackwater has a history of civilian killings in Iraq, including the Nisour Square Massacre, where 17 innocent civilians were cut down by Blackwater gunfire without provocation on Sept. 16, 2007. No one has accepted responsibility for this heinous crime.

BLACKWATER --

  • is manipulative and undemocratic and refuses to be transparent about its facilities and processes

  • hid behind shadow companies to get its building permits and thus avoid public scrutiny

  • skirted the normal permit process to convert a warehouse into a paramilitary “vocational school”

  • lied about its future operational plans in the county

  • took S.D. City to Federal Court to force approval

  • is not the sort of company we want here!

Blackwater mercenaries along the US-Mexico border seek to benefit from border instability.

We call for peace and collaboration between the US and Mexico to address cultural and immigration issues. Blackwater’s billions of taxpayer funds will illegitimately sway local politicians and encourage MORE MILITARIZED border and increased RACIAL TENSIONS.

PROTEST AT THE SITE OF THE NEW CAL-MEX FACILITY IN OTAY MESA. Bring Signs, etc. A MASSIVE TURNOUT IS NECESSARY TO SAVE OUR COUNTRY!

Rep. Bob Filner (CA-51) will address the crowd.
