Where: Joyce Beers Center, 1010 Vermont Ave., Hillcrest (Across from Trader Joe’s)

Hillcrest/Uptown Shopping Center
Vermont St., 1-1/2 blocks north of University Ave.

Underground parking is available. Due to limited seating, sometimes it is wise to BYOC (Bring your own chair).

From the North:

• From I-805 or I-15, take CA-163 South toward DOWNTOWN
• Just past the I-8 exit, take the UNIVERSITY AVENUE exit (in blue)
• At the end of the ramp, turn LEFT onto UNIVERSITY AVENUE
• Continue on 5 blocks East to VERMONT AVENUE
• Turn LEFT on VERMONT AVENUE

From the South:

• Take I-5 North toward DOWNTOWN
• Merge onto CA-163 North toward ESCONDIDO
• Take the RICHMOND exit (in blue)
• Proceed one block east to VERMONT
• Turn LEFT on VERMONT
• Continue straight past UNIVERSITY AVENUE

The Joyce Beers Community Center is two short blocks past University Avenue, on your right, between the Terra Restaurant and the Aladdin Restaurant. Free parking is available in the shopping center's underground parking lot; the entrance just ahead and to your left.

FYI: An event was held here with a packed house in May of 2012 with temps comfortable outdoors in the low 70s. Upon entering it felt like a sauna. No A/C or fans inside whatsoever. Might be best to call to find out about A/C before booking this venue during warm weather. OK I notice A/C is checked below. Perhaps it was broken.

Update: As of 8/20/2012 the A/C was working quite well on a very warm evening
