Friday night's lone debate in the 52nd Congressional District featured GOP Rep. Hunter, Democrat Lutz and Libertarian Michael Benoit.

Democrat Ray Lutz lit into Republican Rep. Duncan D. Hunter at Friday night's debate at Cuyamaca College. Libertarian challenger Michael Benoit also had strong words in the forum sponsored by the East County Chamber of Commerce. Lutz, the La Mesa-born challenger, said Hunter won election by mistake when voters thought they were voting for Hunter's father, longtime congressman Duncan L. Hunter.
