Many deceptive ProGMO news articles claim that 2000+ studies show that GMOs are "safe". The attached spreadsheet is the actual list of documents.

Actually, there are only 1787 studies actually cited, in the following categories:

Category Starting at Record # Number of Documents Comments
General 2 167 Marketing research, comments, consumer surveys, etc. no hard science
Biodiversity 169 580 Essentially research on how well these crops against various threats, etc. No safety studies
Gf-Coexistence 749 96 How well the genes stay to themselves without flowing to other varieties.
Gf-Wild Relatives 845 113 Gene flow to wild relatives
Gf-HGT Soil 958 59 Gene flow to soil
Non-target assessment 1017 107 Opinions and discussion of approaches to assessment of risks
Equivalence 1124 46 Compositional analysis, methods of statistical analysis
Consumption 1170 312 Livestock consumption studies, opinions on how to conduct, very few actual studies (~60 with abstracts?) that can be related to human consumption studies. The longest studies cited are 90-day studies on rodents, which are the longest toxicological tests that the industry generally carries out.
Traceability 1483 617 How to detect GMO varieties, etc.

Most (more than 1600) have nothing to do with safety, but are dealing with agronomics, gene flow, biodiversity, opinion pieces, customer or farmer opinion surveys. Only a very few are scientific research into safety, and non are long-term studies.
