You can help for an hour or a day. Here's how:
Help people understand their rights:
Location Checking
- Check the polling place location. Is it in the sanctuary of a church? Is it up on the Altar?? These are the wrong places for polling places. We want to know if you find any thing like this. See Polls In Churches for more information.
- Check for voters guides or other literature. No church literature. No "Christian Examiner" newspapers. Nothing within 100 ft.
If you have more time, we want to check all the polls in churches to make sure they are complying. See
Polls In Churches for the list.

This is the most important way you can help out. It means talking to your neighbor Democrats in your home precinct and making sure they have the information they need to vote, that they can get to the polls, etc.
You can:
- Do as little or as much as you want
- Walk door to door using prepared walking lists
- Call on the phone
- Send out letters
In some precincts that are heavily Republican, the Democrats can win because they can get a huge participation. Get to know your neighbor Democrats. You'd be surprised how many there are!

Local Candidate Assistance
We urgently need your help this weekend – and every minute you can spare in the next week.
The Mark Hanson campaign is poised to win. A new poll has yielded very positive results. Plus the media is telling the truth about Hollingsworth pocketing money from insurance companies and voting against bills to help fire victims. Now fire victims are being evicted and a new major wildfire is burning out of control in our district. People can trust Mark Hanson – a fire survivor who raised money to help fire survivors rebuild.
We need volunteers to help us man phones and make calls to past and prospective donors to raise money for radio commercials and additional e-mails to more people in our district. We are asking for donations to help air a radio spot. We have a country music fiddler who has agreed to provide music and a voiceover message informing voters about the candidates’ fire records, urging them to vote for Hanson because “We can’t afford a State Senator who just fiddles around.”
We also have lists of voters to call and additional work that needs to be accomplished. It’s all hands on deck time! We have been short-staffed all week due to some ECU members out ill.
We KNOW this race is winnable—and the stakes are high. So we’re asking all East County supporters to please volunteer at least a few hours in the next few days. Please call me at 619-212-3651 or Leon at 316-0657 ASAP and let us know when you can help!
