PROTEST OPPORTUNITY FOR Shutdown Diablo ACTIVISTS!
Michael Peevey, former CPUC president is to be "toasted" by industry insiders and "respectables" (who look the other way as crime is committed). THIS IS AN IMPORTANT OPPORTUNITY FOR Shutdown Diablo ACTIVISTS TO STAGE PRESS CONFERENCE AND RALLY, and JOIN WITH SAN BRUNO GAS EXPLOSION ACTIVISTS and those who are generally concerned about CPUC IMPROPRIETY AND CRIMINAL ACTIVITY!!
The Diablo Canyon plant is far from public view and it is nearly impossible to stage rallies in the vicinity of the plant, so we MUST TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY!
PRESS CONFERENCE AND RALLY -- 5pm outside the Julia Morgan Ballroom with video recording of everyone who attending the Peevey "celebration"!
Michael Aguirre: "We do not have to wait to see if Mr. Peevey is indicted for criminal acts to understand why he should not be honored by any respectful group. What we know about Mr. Peevey is that he dishonored the public trust by favoring utility profiteering over consumer needs. He turned blind-eye to public safety in favor of private profit. He was a tyrant in his public office and he conducted the public business with arrogance and disrespect to towards the members of the community who came before him. It will take many years of reform effort to restore the CPUC to its rightful position as a stalwart defender of public needs. The policies and practices and people Mr. Peevey put in place and rewarded will continue to do major damage to our beloved State of California. The time has come for a new Commission with members who are free of the contagious disease of corruption transmitted by Peevey and his cronies."
It is very important to mobilize activists who live near this event!! SLO is not that far away. San Bruno is only a few BART stops away.
